We are enjoying learning about William Shakespeare. Mrs Michelle Young from Ink Wing Academy has been teaching us. Here are some snaps of our first freeze frames for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Feasts and Festivals

Year 5 took part in a one hour workshop all about Feasts and Festivals. Derry City Council in conjunction with the culture quarter 2017 provided all the resources and learning. We loved meeting Sinead and learning all about the different Irish/British/Ethnic identities and diverse faiths going through the yearly calendar. We also got the opportunity to create our own unique dragon to celebrate Chinese New Year.Image result for feast and festivals

Monday 6th - Friday 10th March 2017

Constables Lorraine, Moira and Stuart from the Community Policing Teams came to our class to talk about road, pedestrian and cycle safety. We learned all about the importance of bicycle safety (all bikes need brakes in good working order, reflectors and a bell).

We learned what can happen if we don't wear a helmet and high visibility clothing.

All children up to the age of 12 or height of 1m 32cm need to travel in a car on a booster seat.

The talk and demonstration was excellent we learned lots!
