Ulster Scots
KS2 pupils enjoyed listening to an account of the history of The Battle of the Boyne and the life of a foot soldier. Thank you to David Scott from the Ulster Scots Society for his informative talk.
Sports Day
Congratulations to everyone in Year 7 for taking part in their final Edwards Sports Day.
Multisports
Year 7 have enjoyed two weeks of Multisports with St Patrick's Primary School.

Meet and Greet With Claudia Buckley
The Paper Bag Challenge
As part of our Fairtrade topic, Year 7 had the challenge of working in teams to make paper bags. This was to replicate the experiences of eleven-year-old children in India who do this as a job. We calculated how many paper bags we could make in a day and whether or not it provided us with enough rupees to live on.
Creativity Week
Year 7 enjoyed a variety of creative activities this week - drumming, highland dancing, hip hop, drama and art.
They also produced splendid Pop Art inspired by Andy Warhol, for our Edwards 'Art of the Extraordinary' Gallery.
Internet Safety Day 2024
To raise awareness of both the positives and dangers of life 'online,' Year 7 had an informative visit from the PSNI and an excellent presentation from the Technology Council.
Morse Code
Year 7 have experimented with making circuits to tap Morse Code. We have learned that Morse Code saved many lives during World War II.
Verse Speaking
Congratulations to the Year 7 pupils who participated in verse speaking today. They did a beautiful job of learning and reciting the poem, 'The Flattered Flying Fish.'
Abigail, Caleb and John-Ross took equal first place and won the KS2 Verse Speaking Cup.
Firepit Fun
To celebrate SEAG results Year 7 pupils enjoyed toasting marshmallows and washing them down with hot chocolate. Delicious!
Ziplines
Year 7 designed and experimented with making a transporter for a toy and running it along ziplines. We explored using different variables to see how they would affect our results.

Air Raid Shelters
Congratulations to the pupils who created the air raid shelters pictured below. Such a lot of effort and hard work! We have tested them with weights and water to see how sturdy and waterproof they were.
The Amazing Journey
We had a wonderful visit from some of The Amazing Journey team who retold The Christmas Story.
Christmas Dinner

At school today, some year 7 pupils got to meet Joey and Maisie the Christmas donkeys.
Year 7 Trip to hear the ULster Orchestra.
Year 7 had a most enjoyable outing to listen to the Ulster Orchestra at the Strule Arts Centre. We were introduced to the various sections of the orchestra and treated to a variety of popular and classical tunes.
Year 7 enjoyed participating in Jag Tag (non-contact American football) with pupils from Sion Mills and Victoria Bridge in Melvin Sports Centre, Strabane.
