Reach For The Skies
Taking Flight!
Year 7 pupils explored the forces involved in flight, such as thrust, lift and drag, by designing and making their own paper aeroplanes. They then tested their planes to discover which designs travelled the furthest and stayed in the air the longest, applying their understanding through a fun and practical investigation.
Mars Rover Investigation
As part of our Reach For The Skies topic, Year 7 have been learning about Mars rovers and their role in space exploration. Working in teams, pupils designed and built their own Mars rovers using K'NEX before testing them on a variety of surfaces. Through this exciting STEM challenge, the children developed their teamwork, problem-solving and engineering skills while discovering what it takes to explore the Red Planet!
